Keeping the Score When It Counts — Assessing the Academic Records of the 2024-2025 Bowl-Bound College Football Teams

The term “Bowl Bound” alludes to the idea of a college football team being eligible for, and thus continuing its season through, a bowl game. In a given year, a college football team will become eligible for a bowl game upon its winning six games in their season. Bowl games are then assigned to each college/university following the regular season’s conclusion.

This annual report—now on its 22nd year—takes note of all bowl-eligible college football teams, and then looks upon their respective college/university through the lens of academic achievement. That is to say, this report assesses the academic progress of the currently notable college football programs.
